In advance of the 2018 gubenatorial primaries in New Mexico, NM SAFE reached out to the candidates' respective campaigns with a survey of nine questions designed to probe their policy positions on key criminal justice issues. The decisions our next governor will make on critical criminal justice issues in New Mexico will have a profound impact on our families and communities over the years to come, and we believe voters deserve a clear understanding of how each candidate intends to appoach these challenges if they are elected.

New Mexico SAFE is a nonpartisan coalition that does not endorse individual candidates in an election. This candidate survey is designed as a tool to help give voters the information they need in the upcoming elections and is not an endorsement by New Mexico SAFE or any other organization.
